Job summary

Germer International - Pharmaceutical Recruiting seeks a field calibration technician to service pharmaceutical equipment at customer sites across the region. The role requires calibration of pneumatic and electronic control instruments in accordance with FDA and NIST standards, with up to 80% travel (mostly overnight).

A two-year degree or equivalent experience is required. The candidate should read electrical and pneumatic schematics, be computer literate, and have basic PLC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in engineering technology or 5 to 7 years of related experience.
• Calibration experience with temperature, air flow, pressure and moisture sensing instrumentation; PLCs and computers; and control system components.
• Knowledge of pharmacy process equipment; OSHA/NEC/NFPA guidelines; ARC Flash training.
• Must possess a valid driver's license; able to work while standing on ladder; confined space training.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled instrument calibration at customer sites and in pharma division, following written calibration procedures.
• Add calibration records to database and prepare calibration certificates; maintain records.
• Coordinate calibration activities with Pharma division and schedule travel as needed.
• Make travel arrangements for customer visits according to schedule; prepare for upcoming calibrations.
• Prepare field visit documents: calibration reports, field reports, labor logs, expense reports.
• Maintain current certification of all NIST traceable calibration standards.
• Assist in maintenance, calibration, and repair of in-house equipment, utilities, and BAS system.
• Stay current with SOP trainings; suggest improvements to calibration procedures.
• Present a professional image to staff and clients; contribute to revenues and growth.
• Maintain an organized work area; perform other duties as needed.
