Job summary

Germer International is seeking an instrumentation calibration specialist to travel up to 80% (local and overnight) to customer sites. You will calibrate pneumatic and electronic control instruments, support pharmaceutical services, and ensure compliance with FDA/NIST standards.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of related experience or a two-year engineering technology degree, with PLC and control system knowledge, OSHA/NEC familiarity, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires a two-year degree or 5–7 years of related experience.
• Calibration experience with temperature, air flow, pressure and moisture sensing instrumentation.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NEC/NFPA guidelines.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to work on ladders; ARC Flash training may be required; confined space training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled instrument calibration at customer sites and in pharma division according to written calibration procedures.
• Add calibration records to database and prepare calibration certificates; maintain records up to date.
• Coordinate calibration activities with Pharma division and stay on schedule.
• Make travel arrangements for customer visits and arrange items necessary for upcoming calibrations.
• Prepare field documents including calibration reports, field reports, labor logs and expense reports.
• Maintain current certification of all NIST traceable calibration standards.
• Assist Pharma division in maintenance, calibration, and repair of in-house equipment, utilities and BAS system.
• Stay current with SOP trainings; recommend improvements in calibration procedures to improve efficiency.
• Establish and maintain client relations to encourage contracts.
• Present at all times a professional image to staff and clients to instill confidence and teamwork.
• Maintain an organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
