Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, program, test, commission, and maintain GMP-compliant control systems used in pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. You will work with project teams and customers to deliver validated automation solutions.

The role requires hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Wonderware or GE iFix SCADA, SQL databases, and virtualization, plus strong troubleshooting and communication skills; travel around 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, engineering technology or related field.
• 3+ years of control-system design and programming experience.
• Recent hands-on Allen-Bradley PLC and Wonderware or GE iFix SCADA development experience.
• Knowledge of cGMP practices, control-system documentation, instrumentation, and validation.
• Strong troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and project-management skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and commission Allen-Bradley PLC applications using RSLogix for ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and PLC-5 systems.
• Develop SCADA applications using Wonderware and/or GE iFix, including scripting, security, recipes, reporting, and database integration.
• Configure SQL databases, computers, thin clients, virtualization technology, instrumentation, and control-system hardware.
• Create and review functional specifications, sequences of operation, P&IDs, schematics, panel layouts, and test protocols.
• Provide commissioning, customer training, validation, warranty, troubleshooting, and service support.
