Job summary

Commissioning Partners LLC. seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to support pharmaceutical manufacturing automation, PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and instrumentation, ensuring GMP compliance and data integrity.

You will troubleshoot, calibrate field devices, assist with CQV activities, participate in change control, and collaborate across engineering, maintenance, validation, QA, and production to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, DCS, industrial instrumentation, and control systems.
Experience with equipment troubleshooting, commissioning, and system testing.
Understanding of GMP requirements, change control, and technical documentation.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Support, maintain, and troubleshoot automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and DCS.
Configure, monitor, and maintain automated manufacturing equipment and facility utilities.
Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, control system, and process equipment issues to minimize downtime.
Support installation, commissioning, testing, and qualification of new automation systems and equipment.
Assist with control system modifications, software updates, alarm management, and process improvements.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, validation, quality assurance, and production teams.
Review and maintain technical documentation, including control narratives, P&IDs, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and system specifications.
Support calibration and troubleshooting of field instruments, sensors, transmitters, control valves, and other automation devices.
Ensure automation systems comply with GMP, data integrity, safety, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Participate in change control, deviation investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA activities.
Support preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
