Job summary

Merck offers a 10-12 week Future Talent Program summer internship across the PADT and LMA departments in Rahway, NJ; West Point, PA; Boston, MA; and South San Francisco, CA. Interns will develop analytical methodologies impacting drug substance and drug product development in a team-based laboratory setting.

Interns gain hands-on experience with instrumentation, data analytics, and collaborative problem solving, with opportunities to present results and contribute to scientific publications.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD program in a chemistry, biology, biochemistry, chemical/biological engineering, materials science, pharmaceutical science, or related field.
• Able to commit to 10–12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2027.
• Must have completed at least 2 years of study toward a bachelor's degree by June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing novel analytical methodologies for drug substance and drug product development.
• Work with core instrumentation and analytical techniques under supervision of project teams.
• Record experiments in electronic notebooks and interpret data for potential publications or internal reports.
