Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking summer interns for its Discovery Pharmaceutical Sciences Department in West Point, PA and Boston, MA.

Interns will work on projects spanning formulation development and manufacturing for oral, sterile, and specialty products including small molecules, peptides, biologics, and vaccines. Interns will join a multidisciplinary team, present results orally and in writing, and work closely with experienced scientists on a research project during the 12-week program, June–August

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s; or graduate student pursuing a Masters or Ph.D. in relevant fields.
• Availability for full-time for up to 12 weeks (June–August 2027).
• GPA 3.0+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engineering polymer/API composite particles for injectable formulations.
• Characterization and formulation of biologics drugs.
• Alternative drug delivery options for peptides.
• Design, formulation, and characterization of lipid-based delivery systems.
