Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking co‑op students for a 4‑6 month program across our Pharmaceutical Analysis and Digital Technology and Large Molecule Analytical departments in Boston, Rahway, West Point, and South San Francisco.

You will work on developing analytical methodologies and contribute to drug substance and product development in a state‑of‑the‑art laboratory setting, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical/Biological Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or related discipline.
• Available to work full-time for 4–6 months beginning in early to mid-2027.
• Must have completed at least 2 years of studies toward a bachelor's degree by June 2027.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a team environment on analytical projects impacting drug development.
• Maintain accurate electronic notebooks and record experimental details.
• Analyze and interpret data to support internal publications and project decisions.
• Present research results orally and in writing.
