Job summary

Georgia Department of Public Health seeks an PHN Nurse Supervisor for Rabun County. You will lead nursing programs and clinical services, supervise staff, and foster partnerships to advance community health.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Nursing, GA RN license, CPR certification, and two years PHN experience; a DHHS-approved PHN course may be required within one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing and two years of PHN experience.
• Current Georgia Registered Nurse license and CPR certification.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate county health department programs and clinical services.
• Supervise nursing and other staff; set performance expectations and provide coaching.
• Build relationships with community partners and health department staff to coordinate outreach and services.
• Assist with budgeting and resources; participate in training initiatives.
• Oversee quality assurance activities and CLIA lab audits.
• Coordinate coverage of nurses during Public Health emergencies and outreach events.

As an PH RN Nurse Supervisor within the Rabun County Health Department.

At the District Two, Georgia Department of Public Health you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

District 2 Public Health serves 13 counties in northeast Georgia, including Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties. Under limited supervision, manages programs, staff, clinical services and fiscal processes of a local public health department. Identifies community partners, providers and agencies and develops relationships to further public health efforts in the community.

Additional Responsibilities, but not limited too:

• Program and Clinical Leadership: Direct and coordinate county health department programs and clinical services to ensure compliance. Provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures.
• Staff Leadership and Development: Supervise nursing and additional staff as needed; establish performance expectations, provide coaching and feedback, conduct performance reviews, and support employee development, recruitment, retention, and separation processes.
• Community and Partner Collaboration: Build and maintain effective relationships with community partners and health department staff to coordinate outreach, home visits, off-site clinics, mentoring, and other public health services.
• Budget and Resource Management: Assist with developing and monitoring the health department budget and resources.
• Training and Assistance: Participate in state and local planning and training initiatives and provide training, assistance, and professional support to health department staff and community partners.
• Quality and Program Improvement: Monitor program performance and service delivery, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement strategies that promote efficient operations and positive outcomes for clients and the community.
• Assist DND with training of new nurses
• Execute Protocol Training
• Oversee Quality Assurance activities in the Health Departments
• Oversee CLIA lab audits
• Coordinate coverage of nurses during Public Health emergencies
• Coordinate outreach events

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND Two years of PHN experience AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification

• Associate's degree/diploma in Nursing from an accredited college AND Three years of PHN experience AND Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
