Responsibilities

Salary Range: $18.00 - $19.00 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Lift Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of aerial and surface lifts and the assisting guests in a safe and friendly manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assume responsible charge of the aerial and surface lifts.
  • Maintain and operational log as required in 4.3.5.1
  • Advise the supervisor of any condition or occurrence that may adversely affect the safety of the operation
  • Report to assigned duty station and perform daily inspections
  • Clear and maintain ramp and maze areas
  • Participate in the maintenance of lifts and lift buildings
  • Provide assistance to skier/snowboarders/bikers/lift riders whenever necessary
  • Instruct and assist skiers/snowboarders/bikers/lift riders in the use of the lift
  • Operators working at the top of the lift during summer operations will be required to lift guest’s bikes from the bike racks and hold the bike until the guest gets off the next chair
  • Operate tools and equipment necessary to do the job, i.e. shovels, rakes, ice chippers, etc.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Participate in the maintenance of lifts and lift buildings
WORKING CONDITIONS

Work alone or with others, based outdoors. This position is exposed to temperature extremes (above 85 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (8200+ feet). Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, lift arms to wave/direct, and lift a minimum of 30 pounds.

ATTENDANCE

This position requires the ability to maintain flexibility in a work schedule, which will include weekends and holidays. Resort is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, 7 days a week during ski season. During the summer, the resort will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Typical daily work hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.
