Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Care.
• RRT credential awarded by the NBRC and Ohio licensure required.
• CPFT or RPFT, PALS, and ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers a variety of pulmonary function tests including spirometry, lung volumes, and diffusion capacity studies.
• Instructs patients and families on breathing techniques and comfort during testing.
• Calibrates and maintains pulmonary function testing equipment for accuracy.
• Collaborates with pulmonologists to interpret results and contribute to care plans.
• Documents and maintains patient data and test results in the EMR.
• Educates patients and families about respiratory health and treatment options.
• Follows protocols to ensure safe and effective testing environments.
• Participates in department quality initiatives and PFT software proficiency.
• Provides age-appropriate care addressing physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs.
• Performs other duties as required.
