Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a PFAS forensics discipline leader to oversee and expand PFASs technical services for domestic and international clients. You will apply deep PFAS chemistry knowledge and advanced analytical methods to maintain and advance the firm’s PFAS forensics capabilities.

The role involves collaborating with project managers, technical experts, and business development teams to drive solutions, support sales, and lead thought leadership in PFAS characterization and source attribution.

Qualifications

PhD in PFASs forensics and at least five years of PFASs experience.
Detailed understanding of PFAS chemistry, uses, manufacturing, fate and transport.
History of commercial PFAS forensics projects using non-targeted analyses.

Responsibilities

Oversee the design, implementation, and management of PFASs forensic services and identify PFASs to support allocation of responsibility for detections.
Apply PFASs detection expertise and analytical methods to enhance CDM Smith’s PFAS forensics.
Assist with technical sales, client engagement, project delivery, and proposal development.
Support ongoing R&D initiatives on PFAS characterization and new analytical methods.
Provide oversight to AI tools used in PFAS characterization.
Mentor junior and mid-level staff and facilitate knowledge transfer.
Develop marketing materials and position CDM Smith for new client opportunities.
