Job summary

Vertex Energy Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Lab team in a full-time role with rotating shifts (5am-2pm, 7am-4pm, 4pm-12am).

Responsibilities include testing samples, analyzing data, and supporting plant operations while ensuring quality and safety. The position requires refinery laboratory or petroleum testing experience, a two-year associate degree in laboratory science, and proficiency with computers.

Qualifications

• Refinery laboratory or petroleum testing experience.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Able to work safely without supervision.
• Able to follow written procedures and scientific methods.
• Strong math and reasoning skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on samples, process streams, and finished products.
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment; troubleshoot as needed.
• Record and report data promptly; communicate results to operations.
• Support the laboratory's Quality Management System and audits.
• Prepare samples for analysis and handle waste according to procedures.
