Job summary

Chevron is seeking a Product Testing Technician to perform a wide variety of tests on refinery process samples and finished products. You will follow SOPs and ASTM/CARB/EPA methods, validate data, and report results while maintaining safety standards in a 24/7 lab environment.

The role requires rotating 12-hour shifts, driving regularly, and strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, or a 3-year analytical lab testing background,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) or Technology (Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing) or 3 years of full analytical laboratory testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of tests on refinery process samples and finished products per established procedures.
• Test methods vary from simple methods such as density/gravity, color, and viscosity to more complex methods such as knock (octane) testing, automatic distillation and titration, gas chromatography, etc.
• Learns and performs approximately 180 different tests following SOPs that comply with ASTM, CARB, EPA, or in-house testing methods.
• Utilizes standard Quality Control / Quality Assurance processes to ensure accuracy and precision of results.
• Validates data, performs calculations, and reports test results.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills; identifies risks and takes action to eliminate.
• Exhibits excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Job necessitates driving on a routine basis.
