Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Petroleum Lab Technician to perform multiple chemical and physical tests at a client site in Corpus Christi, TX. This is an early career role on the Caleb Brett team, with 12-hour shifts (four on/four off), days and nights.

The position requires a high school diploma (preferred: some college chemistry) and comfort with LIMS, instrumentation, and ASTM methods. Benefits include a comprehensive package and growth opportunities in the petroleum lab testing field.

Qualifications

• Must multi-task in high production testing areas.
• Must possess good math and observation skills.
• Must demonstrate proficiency using LIMS applications.
• Must demonstrate ability to follow standard and non-standard procedures.
• Must demonstrate ability to utilize laboratory instrumentation.
• Must be able to work overtime as business needs dictate.
• Ability to regularly lift/carry up to 44 pounds and occasionally up to 49 pounds.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform numerous chemical and physical tests based on ASTM methods or accepted industry standards.
• Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Clean glassware and test equipment.
• Assist with preparing reagents as needed.
• Record data on data sheets and report data to the LIMS system.
• Maintain quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.
• Comply with safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.
• Participate in cross training as needed.
