Job summary

Intertek Caleb Brett seeks an early career Lab Technician to join at a client site in Corpus Christi, TX. You will perform numerous petroleum product tests per ASTM guidelines in a safe, professional manner, at a client site for Intertek.

Responsibilities include calibration, data entry to LIMS, and maintaining quality records. 12-hour shifts with four on four off, alternating days and nights. Intertek offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must multi-task in high production testing areas.
• Good math and observation skills are required.
• Proficiency using LIMS and established chemistry lab processes.
• Ability to follow standard and non-standard procedures.
• Ability to utilize instrumentation in testing.
• Overtime may be required as business needs dictate.
• Able to regularly lift up to 44 pounds and occasionally 49 pounds.
• Able to stand for prolonged periods during shifts.
• Prior exposure to various chemicals is expected.
• TWIC is required for site access.

What are we looking for?

The Petroleum Lab Tech is responsible forperforming numerous and varied tests on petroleum products, following ASTM guidelines, in a safe, ethical and professional manner. This position will involve working directly at a client site for Intertek, in Corpus Christi.

Shift/Schedule:

12 hour shifts, four on four off , alternating days and nights

What you'll do:

• Perform numerous chemical and physical tests based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards in multiple test areas
• Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Clean glassware and test equipment.
• Assist with preparing reagents as needed.
• Record data on appropriate data sheets and reports data to LIMS system.
• Responsible for maintaining quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.
• Responsible for complying with safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.
• Participate in cross training as needed.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Must demonstrate ability to multi-task in high production testing areas.

• Prior exposure to various chemicals
• Ability to acquire a TWIC is required

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prefer successful completion of at least one semester of college level chemistry and/or prior work experience in a laboratory environment
• Prefer proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel
