Job summary

Intertek Caleb Brett is seeking a Petroleum Lab Supervisor to lead the Saint Rose, LA laboratory. The role includes directing lab staff, reviewing data, logging samples into LIMS, and producing final reports.

The supervisor will perform analyses and ensure safety, quality, and timely turnaround for clients. The position requires at least two years of lab analysis experience with leadership, proficiency in LIMS, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of direct laboratory analysis experience with documented team lead or supervisory experience.
• Ability to multi-task in a high production environment and lead staff.
• Strong math and observation skills.
• Proficiency using LIMS applications and established chemistry lab processes.
• Excellent team communication and ability to lead staff professionally.
• Ability to follow standard and non-standard procedures.
• Ability to utilize both non-complex and complex instrumentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical and physical tests following ASTM methods or industry standards across multiple test areas.
• Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Clean glassware and test equipment; prepare reagents as needed.
• Record data on data sheets and report into the LIMS system.
• Maintain quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.
• Ensure safety, quality and housekeeping requirements are met.
• Provide direct laboratory floor production to meet client demands; offer analytical support using published methods when needed.
• Work in a rotating day/night shift, 24/7/365, as required.
