Job summary

Intertek Caleb Brett is seeking a Lab Technician, Petroleum for our Sulphur, LA facility. The role requires performing chemical and physical tests per ASTM standards across multiple test areas, with an emphasis on quality controls and data integrity.

The position supports shift work (12-hour rotating days/nights) in a dynamic lab environment. Candidates should have 2 years of petrochemical lab experience and be able to handle instrumentation and reagents while maintaining safety and

What are we looking for?

The Lab Tech, Petroleum is responsible for performing numerous chemical and physical tests based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards in multiple test areas.

Shift/Schedule:

Rotating (Days/Nights) shifts are 12 hours. Working a 4 on 4 off schedule including on call days.

What you’ll do:

• Performs numerous chemical and physical tests based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards in multiple test areas.
• Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Cleans glassware and test equipment.
• Assists with preparing reagents as needed.
• Records data on appropriate data sheets and reports data to LIMS system.
• Responsible for maintaining quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.
• Responsible for complying with safety, quality and housekeeping requirements.
• Participates in cross training as needed.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• College level course work in Chemistry is a big plus
• Experience operating Octane Engines
• Prefer proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel
