Job summary

Intertek Group is seeking an Inspector III, Petroleum for the St. Rose, LA area. The role focuses on volume/temperature measurements, sampling and custody transfer surveys across lines, shore tanks, rail cars and barges, ensuring accurate and traceable data.

Travel about 25% is required. Qualified candidates have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field and 2 years of Inspector experience (or 4 years without a degree).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field; 2 years Inspector experience or 4 years without degree.
• TWIC credential (current or able to obtain).
• Ability to interpret and apply API MPMS Chapters 3,7,8,11,12,17 and related factor corrections.

Responsibilities

• Perform volume, temperature measurements, sampling, and reporting to determine quantity and quality.
• Inspect lines, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks and barges; supervise custody transfer surveys.
• Calibrate equipment; verify data accuracy and traceability of records.
• Provide on-the-job training to less experienced Inspectors and assist senior staff.
• Coordinate with terminal, transport and company personnel and manage supplies for timely reporting.
