Intertek Caleb Brett in Sulphur, LA seeks a Petroleum Inspector to join our team for on-site inspections at client sites. The role includes volume and temperature measurement, sampling, and custody transfer surveys across shore tanks, rail cars, and ships.

Travel to client locations is required, with on-call shifts that may include nights and weekends. Qualified candidates will demonstrate safety compliance, basic math skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

What are we looking for?

The Petroleum Inspector is responsible for performing volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials per client specifications. This position will involve traveling to client locations for onsite inspections.

Employee must be able to arrive at 1071 Coach Williams Dr., Sulphur, LA 70663, within 20 minutes of contact while on duty.

Shift/Schedule

Typically a 6 day on and 3 day off schedule. Varying Shifts with on call hours that may include nights, weekends and/ or holidays

What You’ll Do

• Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures
• Perform volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
• Visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
• Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships
• Perform routine equipment calibrations, verification, and function checks
• Verify and communicate the results obtained and to make the entries into the appropriate media
• Provide on the job assistance and receive training from more experienced inspectors
• Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport, and Company personnel to promote smooth exercise of duties assigned
• Monitor the availability of the supplies needed for the above processes, and to make any needs for such supplies known to the Dispatcher or Coordinator
• Perform routine equipment calibration, verification, and function checks
• Organize and coordinate jobs so that services are rendered, and reports and samples are submitted in a timely manner
• Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition
• Verify and communicate the results obtained and to make the entries into the appropriate media, whether print or electronic, required to ensure the validity and traceability of the information

Duties and Qualifications

• Must have basic grasp of basic mathematics and work in an automated environment
• Ability to work on an on-call basis
• Cannot have a fear of heights
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks
• Ability to perform routine equipment calibrations, verification, and function checks
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record (required)
• Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
