Job summary

AmSpec is seeking an entry level trainee inspector to perform basic field inspection and sampling, complete paperwork, and distribute samples while maintaining timely communications with the office staff.

The role requires safety training, ability to work in refinery/terminal environments, and 24x7 availability with potential shift work. A high school diploma or related experience is acceptable, with English proficiency and basic math and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related experience in the industry.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Familiarity with basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets).
• Must have unrestricted vehicle access, valid driver license, and be willing to travel to facilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete safety and orientation training for access to customer facilities.
• Shadow a senior inspector to learn basic inspection and sampling requirements.
• Follow API, IFIA, customer and company procedures at all times.
• Perform basic field inspection and sampling tasks, measure temperature, collect samples, and calculate volume.
• Prepare and distribute field reports to vessels, terminals and office as assigned.
• Ensure proper transport of samples and timely communication with office staff.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
