Overview

Texas Oncology is seeking a PET Technologist to join our team. This role supports the Oncology Medical Imaging Department at our 6204 Balcones location in Austin, Texas. The typical schedule involves four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with days off adjusted as needed for patient care.

Sign-On Bonus

This position offers a $5,000.00 Sign-On Bonus.

Responsibilities

What does the PET Technologist do?

Under supervision, performs PET imaging procedures, collaborates on technical issues, and supports quality assurance, adhering to compliance standards.

Key Duties:
  • Performs diagnostic PET imaging, including injections, patient positioning, image reconstruction, and data management.
  • Assists with scheduling and front office functions for workflow efficiency.
  • Ensures accuracy of patient data and reports.
  • Collects clinical data and supports educational initiatives.
  • Follows safety standards, conducts quality control, and reports equipment issues.
  • Manages patient data and film archiving, understands contraindications, and orders necessary supplies.
Qualifications

Level 1:

  • Associates or Bachelors in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology from an AMA-accredited program, with PET-CT certification.
  • 3-5 years experience in nuclear medicine or PET preferred.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and billing systems.
  • CNMT or ARRT (N) certification and state licensure if applicable.

Level 2: Minimum 5 years in nuclear medicine, with at least 2 years in PET or nuclear medical experience.

Level Sr: Bachelors in related fields, with at least 4 years of nuclear medical/PET experience.
