Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY, is seeking a per diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join the Nuclear Medicine department. This PRN/0.0 FTE role supports imaging, therapeutic, and patient care services, with a day shift from 7:00am to 4:30pm and variable hours per pay period.

Qualifications include a Diploma or Associate degree in Science or related field, CNMT or RT(N) certification on hire, PET within 24 months, and BLS within 90 days. No experience required.

Job Summary

Provides imaging, therapeutic, and patient care services at defined levels to patients.

Job Responsibilities

Implements radiation protection and safety standards. Applies as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.

Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical factors accurately.

Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.

Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Works under direct supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.

CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist required upon hire OR

PET- Positron Emission Technology Certification required within 24 months of employment in this position AND

BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
