  • Document patient information accurately.
  • May assist physician in imaging procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media within scope and regulations.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Follow HIPAA, OSHA and organizational policies.

Job Summary:

Provides imaging services to patients and supports the department in basic radiographic duties under the direct supervision of a registered Radiological Technologist.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists with patient preparation through verification of patient identity, explanation of procedures, positioning patients for exams and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Assist technologists with routine diagnostic imaging, including setting up rooms, preparing supplies and positioning equipment.
  • Utilizes radiation protection and safety standards. Applies as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
  • Documents patient information accurately.
  • May assist the physician in a variety of imaging procedures.
  • Assists with the preparing and administering contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • May transport patients to and from imaging areas as needed.
  • Follow all regulatory and accreditation standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies.

  • Works under direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Position Requirements:

Education
  • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire AND
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited radiography program as determined by the organization required upon hire.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Temporary Student Radiography License through Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) required within 30 days of employment in this position AND
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
