Job summary

Adventist HealthCare’s Aquilino Cancer Center seeks an experienced PET/CT Technologist for our Outpatient Imaging office in North Bethesda, MD. You will produce NM/PET images, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and operate PET/CT/SPECT imaging equipment while upholding safety and quality protocols.

The role is a variable part-time position (16 hours/week), requiring Maryland licensure, ARRT(N)/CT or NMTCB CNMT, and a BLS certification, with opportunities to contribute to performance improvements

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • State of Maryland Nuclear Medicine Technologist license.
  • ARRT (N)(CT) or NMTCB (CNMT) required.
  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • 2 years Nuclear Medicine Technology experience preferred.
  • 2 years CT experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service & care orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high quality NM and/or PET images with proper protocols.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals per procedures.
  • Operate gamma cameras, SPECT/CT and/or PET/CT equipment.
  • Maintain documentation in RIS/PACS and other systems.
  • Perform hot lab functions and QA checks.
  • Ensure patient safety and adherence to radiation safety standards.

Job description

Aquilino Cancer Center

Adventist HealthCare’s Outpatient Imaging seeks to hire an experienced PET/CT Technologist for our Outpatient Imaging office in North Bethesda, MD who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a PET/CT Technologist you will:

  • Consistently produce high quality NM and/or PET images using knowledge of NM education, IV skills, computer processing and image enhancement. Prepares and administers medications and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established procedure. Performs Nuclear Medicine examinations in accordance with the protocols established by the radiologists. Demonstrates proficiency in operating gamma cameras, SPECT/CT and/or PET/CT machines, uptake probes, well counters, dose calibrators, survey meters and all ancillary equipment within Nuclear Medicine department. Accurately performs documentation in all computer systems within Nuclear Medicine and Imaging Services pertinent to Nuclear Medicine (RIS, PACS, NMIS, image reformatting)
  • Performs Hot Lab functions including the acceptance, maintenance and documentation of radiopharmaceuticals. Understands principles of radiation safety.
  • Properly identifies patients, reviews orders and selects scanning protocols in order to maximize quality and safe patient care in Nuclear Medicine. Performs periodic QA checks as required by state and federal law.
  • Maximizes patient throughput and demonstrates teamwork with coworkers by managing large patient volume.
  • Works with the Director, Manager and Radiologist to develop policies, procedures and protocols including dose reduction activities.
  • Maintains written protocols for each site and ensures that the protocols in the systems are consistent with the written protocols.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives, image quality checks and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • State of Maryland Nuclear Medicine Technologist license
  • ARRT (N)(CT) or NMTCB (CNMT) required
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • 2 years Nuclear Medicine Technology experience preferred
  • 2 years CT experience preferred
  • Strong customer service & critical thinking skills
  • Effective verbal and written skills
  • Actions and attitudes support Adventist Healthcare’s mission and RISES values
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Basic PC skills including RIS/PACS experience
  • Image reformatting experience preferred

Work Schedule:

Employment Type: Variable Part Time

Hours per Week: 16 Hours

Typical Daily Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:00AM- 3:30PM; Variable Locations: Rockville, North Bethesda, Silver Spring

Pay Range:

$37.17 - $55.76
