Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a skilled Pet Stylist to provide professional grooming services for dogs and cats, including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trims, and ear cleaning.

You will prioritize pet safety and comfort while delivering excellent customer service to pet parents. In a busy Petco grooming salon, you will operate grooming tools such as clippers, blades, brushes and dryers, maintain a clean, safe work area, and support junior team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco.
• High‑school diploma or GED preferred, though not required.
• Latitude for independent judgement and problem solving, using grooming skills to solve routine to moderately complex situations.
• Strong attention to detail and passion for animals.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning, according to pet parents' instructions and breed standards.
• Operate grooming instruments, including clippers, blades, shears, brushes, and dryers.
• Prioritize the safety and well‑being of every animal in the salon and report concerns to pet owners and store management.
• Educate pet parents on grooming maintenance and at-home care practices with recommendations.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming area and equipment, and assist with cleaning tasks as needed.
• May train or supervise entry‑level trainees in the absence of a Grooming Salon Leader.
