Job summary

Petco is seeking a skilled Pet Stylist to provide professional grooming services for our customers' pets in a Petco grooming salon. You will ensure pets look and feel their best while delivering excellent customer service.

In this role, you will perform baths, cuts, nail trims and maintain high grooming standards, all with emphasis on safety and comfort for the animals. Weekend, evening, and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program or previous grooming training.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required.
• Ability to follow breed standards and prioritize animal safety.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for animal care.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments such as clippers, blades, brushes, and dryers.
• Prioritize safety and well-being of pets, monitor for discomfort or illness, and report concerns.
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide grooming recommendations and customer service.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized grooming area and adhere to hygiene policies.
• Train, support, and supervise entry-level trainees in the absence of a Grooming Salon Leader.
