Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc. is seeking a Pet Stylist to deliver professional grooming services for dogs and cats with a focus on safety and client satisfaction.

You will bathe, cut, and style pets, use grooming tools, and educate owners on at-home care while working in a busy salon environment. The role requires weekend availability and a commitment to Petco’s standards and pet wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco or equivalent grooming training.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred.
• Latitude for independent judgement and problem solving in grooming tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments such as clippers, blades, shears, brushes, and dryers.
• Prioritize the safety and well-being of every animal and report concerns to owners and management.
• Evaluate coat type, skin conditions, and temperament for grooming plans.
• Interact with pet parents, provide grooming recommendations, and address questions.
• Educate clients on at-home care practices and products for pet wellbeing.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary grooming area and disinfect tools per policy.
• Follow grooming policies to ensure safety and quality, and train or supervise trainees when needed.
