Job summary

Petsense by Tractor Supply is seeking a grooming professional to provide dog and cat grooming services with attention to safety and customer care. You will follow established procedures, schedule appointments, and maintain clean, sanitized grooming areas.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of grooming experience, carry or be willing to purchase necessary grooming tools, and can read and follow training material.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Paragon Level 1 & 2 training provided by Petsense.
• Must provide own grooming tools or be willing to purchase required tools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service.
• Follow and demonstrate all Petsense by Tractor Supply Mission and Values.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Answer phone and schedule appointments
• Assists in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, follow-up phone calls and reminders to customers, and verifying vaccinations.
• Book appointments and greet pets as they come in
• Thoroughly complete 7-point checkin
• Report all accidents and injuries to the Store Manager immediately
• Follow bathing/grooming procedures as outlined
• Clean ears, clip nails and perform other needed services
• Adhere to customer instruction of clipping pattern desired
• Clip dog’s hair according to determined pattern, using electric clippers, combs, and shears
• Comb and shape dogs’ coat
• Talk to live animal, or use other non-physical techniques to keep animal calm
• Complete and maintain customer and company forms
• Properly and completely fill out required grooming forms
• Adhere to all safety rules and procedures and follow all safety standards
• Know and watch for any of the Seven Critical Signs of Stress throughout the full appointment of the animal while in our care
• Sweep, vacuum, clean and sanitize cages, throughout bathing, grooming and check in areas and other cleaning as needed to maintain standards
• Sanitizes and maintains upkeep of all grooming tools and equipment to eliminates injury and spread of diseases to other pet clients.
