Pet Groomer at PetSmart. PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences and best in class salon services, upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role shares responsibility for cleanliness and pet health and safety standards.

Responsibilities
- Independently perform full menu of bath, brush and grooming services and standalone services (e.g., nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) in accordance with PetSmart’s standards.
- Recommend additional health and wellness solutions based on pet needs in consultation with pet parents.
- Ensure positive pet parent experiences; conduct interactions in person, over the phone, and at the sales register.
- Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations.
- Conduct appointment reminders, maintain client records, and consult with pet parents on services offered.
- Perform check-in/check-out for grooming appointments and handle relevant paperwork and rebooking.
- Promote opportunities to grow salon sales and meet sales targets and productivity metrics.
- Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions for all pets in the grooming area; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning per the maintenance checklist.
- Take immediate action if a pet is sick or injured; transport to a veterinarian as needed.
- Assist in other departments as required. May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Prior grooming experience; or 6 months of experience as a Stylist in Training with successful completion of PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification or passes the salon technical evaluation.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
- Flexibility in schedule; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Stand, walk, and use hands to handle, feel, and perform tasks; ability to reach with hands and arms; may involve stooping, kneeling, crouching; vision requirements apply.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100+ pounds with assistance.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, a wet environment with pet hair, and live animals; moderate to high noise level at times.
