Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a PET/CT Technologist for a per-diem, temporary/PRN role in Tupelo, MS. The technologist will operate PET/CT scanners to acquire diagnostic images, ensuring patient safety and comfort while maintaining high-quality image data.

You will screen and prepare patients, explain procedures, and work with radiologists to support accurate diagnoses. Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine protocols and patient communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be NMTCB or ARRT registered in Nuclear Medicine and in good standing.
• Graduate of AMA-approved radiography program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Able to perform PET/CT procedures independently.
• Certification in imaging specialty.

Responsibilities

• Operate PET/CT scanners to produce diagnostic images for physicians.
• Screen patients before exam using two identifiers and check precautions.
• Explain procedures and prepare patients for PET/CT imaging.
• Position patients to optimize image quality and minimize repeats.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the RIS system.
• Adhere to safety regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintain and disinfect equipment after use.
• Administer FDG intravenously under protocol.
• Report any contamination or safety issues to Radiation Safety Officer.
