Job summary

Tennessee Oncology in Nashville is seeking a PET/CT Technologist to operate a hybrid PET/CT scanner and perform diagnostic CT exams as well as PET/CT imaging per physician orders and radiologist guidelines.

Responsibilities include administering contrast, measuring and recording isotope dosage, adhering to radiation safety, explaining procedures to patients, and mentoring new staff while upholding company policies and delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited or registered school of Radiologic Technology required.
ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology required.
ARRT certification in Computerized Tomography required.
Minimum one year CT experience required. May waive with Director of Imaging approval.
PET certification required within 2 years of hire.
Current Certification in Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

Comprehensive knowledge of CT cross-sectional anatomy, positioning, radiographic techniques, and radiation protection concepts.
Ensures proper administration of oral and intravenous contrast material when appropriate.
Measures, administers, and records isotope dosage following established departmental procedures.
Follows radiation safety techniques in usage and disposal of radioactive isotopes in accordance with departmental procedures.
Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
Orients and mentors new staff members.
Demonstrates outstanding customer service and displays appropriate behavior.
Performs all duties in accordance with Tennessee Oncology Policies and Procedures Manual and supplemental procedure established for its Imaging Centers.
