Job Description

The PET/CT Technologist performs PET/CT, CT Simulation, diagnostic CT procedures, administers prepared radiopharmaceuticals, administers contrast media, and performs ordered examinations according to policies and procedures established by the KSC Nuclear Medicine Department, Radiology Department, and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. The technologist may also perform general nuclear medicine imaging such as Nuclear Cardiology, dynamic flow studies, and SPECT studies. They must comply with all safety policies and regulations including radiation safety and quality control procedures. The use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Radiology Information System (RIS), and Patient Archiving and Communication System (PACS) is required for documentation and image storage.

Responsibilities

Perform PET/CT, CT Simulation, diagnostic CT procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, contrast media, and conduct examinations as per policies. May perform additional nuclear medicine imaging as needed. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Utilize EMR, RIS, and PACS systems for documentation and storage.

  • Salary Range: $88,329 - $109,113 (based on experience, education, certifications)
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine or Radiology program (required and preferred). Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare-related field is also preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months clinical PET/CT and CT experience (required). Over 3 years in both PET/CT and CT (preferred).
  • Licenses: ARRT (CT), NMTCB or ARRT(N), Registry eligible. MRT-General Certificate. BLS through American Heart Association.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
