Akumin in Olympia, WA is seeking a part-time PET/CT Technologist to join our mobile team. You will perform PET/CT imaging with a focus on patient comfort, safety and accurate protocol selection during 12-hour shifts across multiple sites.

The role requires NMTCB or ARRT(N) certification, CPR, a high school diploma (Associate’s preferred), and the ability to work at several locations. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential to connecting with patients and radiologists.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; CPR certification.
• NMTCB or ARRT(N) certification required; state license as applicable.
• CPR certification and ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service, organizational and multitasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and imaging parameters.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and proper pre-screening and aseptic technique.
• Produce high quality PET/CT diagnostic images and communicate with radiologists.
• Adhere to radiation safety regulations and document procedures.
• Train new technologists and troubleshoot scanners and related equipment.
• Support care on a mobile/varied-site imaging schedule.

This role is ideal for a technologist looking to work two 12-hour days per week.Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They show their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET/CT images/studies possible—enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence. And, because our techs work in a variety of environments—a freestanding outpatient center, a mobile coach, or a hospital-based/inpatient facility—their flexibility allows them to deliver the absolute best imaging care at any access point.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, etc. and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients.Produces high quality diagnostic imagesEffectively communicates with customers and/or radiologistsTrains new technologists and/or PC'sTrouble-shoots the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).Position Requirements:High School Diploma or Equivalent ExperienceCertification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N)State license, as required.CPR certificationAs applicable, valid state driver’s license.Ability to work at several locationsStrong customer service skills.Organizational and multi-tasking skills.Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.Preferred:Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience1-2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies.At Akumin, we invest in the well-being of our employees, so you can bring your best self to work each day.
