Job summary

Akumin is seeking a PRN PET/CT Technologist for its Seattle, WA mobile team. The role involves traveling to support mobile sites across the Seattle metro area, delivering high-quality PET/CT imaging with patient-centered care.

Requirements include a Nuclear Medicine certification (NMTCB/ARRT N), CPR, and a valid state license, plus the ability to work at multiple locations and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • NMTCB or ARRT(N) Certification; appropriate State license.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
  • Ability to work at several locations.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety, pre-screening, aseptic technique, and radiation safety documentation.
  • Produce high quality PET/CT diagnostic images.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and radiologists.
  • Train new technologists and PC staff.
  • Troubleshoot scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils).

We’re excited to add a PRN PET/CT Technologist to our Seattle, WA mobile team. This flexible role includes travel to support our growing network of mobile sites across the Seattle metro area, perfect for a technologist who enjoys a dynamic, on-the-go schedule. Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They show their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET/CT images/studies possible—enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence. And, because our techs work in a variety of environments—a freestanding outpatient center, a mobile coach, or a hospital-based/inpatient facility—their flexibility allows them to deliver the absolute best imaging care at any access point.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, etc. and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients.
  • Produces high quality diagnostic images
  • Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists
  • Trains new technologists and/or PC's
  • Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) State license, as required.
  • CPR certification
  • As applicable, valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to work at several locations
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Preferred:
  • Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies.

The estimated hourly pay range for this role in Washington is $63.65- $78.81. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, location, and other factors such as internal equity and budget.
