Job summary

Akumin is hiring a PET-CT Technologist in Redding, CA for a PRN role supporting mobile imaging and diverse sites. You will produce high-quality PET/CT images, ensure patient safety, and adhere to radiation safety protocols while delivering compassionate care.

The role involves traveling across the region to cover facilities, troubleshooting equipment with the team, and assisting with start-ups and new business as needed. ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification, an associate degree, and CPR are required.

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification.
  • CPR certification required.
  • State license as required.
  • 3+ years of Nuclear Medicine experience in high-visibility settings.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality diagnostic PET-CT images with emphasis on patient safety.
  • Troubleshoot scanner and peripheral equipment, including PACS.
  • Assist Sales team with start-ups and new business as needed.
  • Travel across multiple locations to provide coverage up to 90%.

This will be a PRN position.Regional resource responsible for providing scanning coverage and supporting Team Members in the field with PET/CT training and troubleshooting. Experienced technologist working in a mobile imaging healthcare environment with regular patient satisfaction improvement surveys. Once internal milestones are met, position will include performing Clinical Competencies and Team Member evaluations, and scanning coverage in various locations/states through the region. Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They show their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET/CT images/studies possible—enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence. In addition, because our techs work in a variety of environments—a freestanding outpatient center, a mobile coach, or a hospital-based/inpatient facility—their flexibility allows them to deliver the absolute best imaging care at any access point.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Produces high quality diagnostic images, responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, etc. and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patientsPartners with local ADDs (Account Development Directors) to effectively communicate with physician groups and Radiology/Clinic Directors, and Radiologists on PET/CT software, customer portal, scanning protocols, and quality issues.Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).Assists Sales team with start-ups and new business as needed.Other responsibilities as assigned.Position Requirements:Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.NMTCB or ARRT (N)State license, as required.CPR certificationAs applicable, valid state driver’s license.Experienced Nuclear Technologist with 3+ years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies working in high-pressure/high visibility environments with regular patient satisfaction surveys.Previous experience managing business relationships with physicians and customers.Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and adapt to new environments quickly.Ability to work at several locations.Organizational and multi-tasking skills.Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs90% travel may be required.Preferred:Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent ExperienceKnowledge and experience on several OEMs and with multiple vendors such as GE, Siemens, Philips, etc.At Akumin, we invest in the well-being of our employees, so you can bring your best self to work each day.
