vTech Solution is seeking a PET/CT Technologist in New York. You will perform nuclear medicine imaging, PET/CT scans, and related therapy while educating patients and ensuring safety throughout procedures.

Responsibilities include planning imaging, reporting results, handling radiopharmaceuticals, and monitoring patients. NY license and ARRT/NMTCB credentials, plus BLS, are required. Weekend or on-call duties are not involved.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The PET/CT Technologist is responsible for performing nuclear medicine imaging and therapy procedures, including PET/CT scans, to produce high-quality diagnostic images. This role involves patient education, positioning, and monitoring during imaging, as well as handling and administering radiopharmaceuticals safely and in compliance with regulations. The technologist analyzes imaging results, troubleshoots quality issues, and ensures accurate reporting. This position requires certification in CT and nuclear medicine, with at least two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders to plan imaging procedures.
• Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exam expectations to ensure cooperation.
• Position patients appropriately and perform imaging procedures using proper techniques tailored to patient needs.
• Perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in compliance with standards and organizational policies.
• Analyze imaging results and identify quality issues; take corrective action such as repositioning and repeating scans if necessary.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results accurately.
• Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to protocols and regulations.
• Continuously monitor patient condition during procedures and respond to any changes appropriately.
• Maintain inventory of supplies in nuclear medicine clinical rooms.

Required Skills & Certifications

• Certified in Computed Tomography (CT) with ARRT certification and continuing education credits.
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by NMTCB or registered Radiologic Technologist with Nuclear Medicine certification by ARRT.
• Current New York State (NYS) License.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• Experience with GE PET or Philips PET scanners.

Special Considerations

• No weekend, holiday, or on-call duties required.
• Must be willing to comply with tuberculosis (TB) skin test requirements.

Scheduling

• Monday through Friday schedule.
• Shifts vary between 7:00 AM 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM 6:30 PM.
