Job summary

Insight Imaging in Covington, Georgia is seeking a full-time PET/CT Technologist to join their team. This role involves conducting PET/CT imaging procedures with a focus on patient care throughout the process.

Job description

About the Position

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET/CT Technologist to join our team as a full‑time position working varied shifts Monday through Saturday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

(90%) Patient PET/CT Imaging

  • Screen patients before exam for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
  • Explain and prepare patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately.
  • Perform routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures on designated portions for physicians, providing patient support throughout the procedure.
  • Adjust PET/CT scan parameters as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, associates, and peers.
  • Follow physicians' orders precisely and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintain a clean work area, promoting safety habits.
  • Maintain the ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Keep equipment in good working order; clean and disinfect after each use.
  • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assess, prepare, record and administer radiopharmaceuticals per Nuclear Regulatory Commission or state regulations and departmental policies.
  • Administer fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) intravenously to patients.
  • Demonstrate safety‑related work behaviors to ensure safe performance and environment.
  • Report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.

(5%) PET/CT Department Support

  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with training of new associates, providing resources and technical expertise.
  • Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines.
  • Perform daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards and NRC or state regulations.

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing.
  • Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of radiography.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the applicable state, if applicable.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Training and experience sufficient to competently perform PET/CT procedures independently.
  • Certification in imaging specialty.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual.
  • ARRT certification in CT.
  • NMTCB PET Specialty certification.
