Job summary

RadNet, Inc. is seeking a part-time PET/CT Technologist to join their team in Minnesota. You will be responsible for operating PET/CT scanners, producing diagnostic images, and providing excellent patient service. The ideal candidate will have NMTCB or ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine, be a graduate of an AMA-approved radiography program, and hold a current CPR certification.

This role includes necessary responsibilities such as preparing patients for procedures, maintaining detailed records, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The position does not support remote work and offers benefits based on eligibility.

Job description

Positron Emission Tomography–Computed Tomography (PET/CT) Technologist

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET/CT Technologist to join our team. As a PET/CT Technologist, you will operate scanners to produce diagnostic images, guide patients through the process, and provide excellent service. Each patient comes to our centers looking for answers; you will explain procedures and address concerns.

Responsibilities
  • Screens a patient before the exam for any precautions or contraindications, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
  • Explains and prepares patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately.
  • Performs routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures on designated body portions for physicians, with minimal supervision, while supporting patients throughout.
  • Adjusts PET/CT scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose‑reduction techniques.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, associates and peers.
  • Follows physician orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, patients and coworkers.
  • Accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
  • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects after each use.
  • Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assesses, prepares, records and administers radio‑pharmaceuticals per NRC and state regulations and departmental policies.
  • Administers fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) via intravenous methods.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of safety‑related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Reports contamination to Radiation Safety Officer.
Department Support (5%)
  • Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary.
  • Assists with training new associates and provides technical expertise.
  • Performs and records daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly quality‑control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure ACR and AOA compliance.
  • Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards and NRC or state regulations.

  • Completes other tasks as assigned.

Requirements
  • NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing.
  • Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of radiography.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the applicable state, if applicable.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Training and experience sufficient to perform PET/CT procedures independently.
  • Certification in imaging specialty.
Preferred
  • ARRT certification in CT.
  • NMTCB PET Specialty certification.
