Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a PET-CT technologist to perform hybrid PET-CT imaging under radiologist supervision. The role includes quality control, patient escort duties, and involvement in training and accreditation activities.

Required ARRT or NMTCB certification within six months, CPR within 30 days, and high school diploma. Two years of Nuclear Medicine/CT experience and advanced CT/PET certification are preferred. This is an on-site position supporting Alabama’s largest health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Registered by the ARRT in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine, or certified by NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine; registry must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Current CPR certification or obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Preferred: Two years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine or CT; preferred: advanced CT and PET certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs PET-CT hybrid imaging to provide structural and metabolic assessment under radiologist supervision.
• May assist with quality control, patient escort services, training, and committee work.
• Maintains readiness for ACR accreditation and participates in department activities.
