Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking an Assistant Store Team Leader in West Springfield, MA. You will guide the store team, ensure neighborly service, and help drive sales and customer satisfaction. You will engage with customers, assist in onboarding new teammates, and partner with leadership on store initiatives.

Role requires 2+ years of leadership in retail, a degree or equivalent experience, and ability to manage operations while maintaining a safe, friendly environment for pets and neighbors alike.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience leading a retail team.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; High school diploma/GED required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills.
• Ability to operate equipment including a forklift and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedules, reliable transportation, and pass the drug test; 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operational management of the store and lead by example.
• Greet neighbors and customers when they enter the store.
• Host adoption events and engage with the local community.
• Analyze store sales results and develop plans to maximize sales and engagement with neighbors.
• Create a fun, positive work environment and promote knowledge and trust with customers.
