Job summary

Petland, Inc. (USA) in Indiana is seeking a Sales Associate to match pets with customers, provide exceptional service, and educate families about basic pet care and the 5-step sale. You will support a team dedicated to helping pets find loving homes and making every visit a positive experience.

You’ll join a friendly, animal-loving team with training opportunities and room to grow, while helping customers select the right pet, answer questions, and maintain a clean, welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Customer focus and ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Pet Counselors are dedicated to matching the right pet with the right customer and meeting the needs of both.
• Provides top-notch customer service.
• Educates customers on every pet’s basic needs.
• Educates customers on the value of Petland pets and the programs Petland offers customers to provide the best customer experience and peace of mind.
• Maintains excellent animal husbandry for the pets by performing opening, daily and closing procedures and assisting in maintaining a clean, organized and safe store environment.
• Assists in Community Service projects in and out of the store as needed.
• Assists Animal Care Technicians with any additional animal care as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
