Job summary

PetSmart’s Pet Associate (Retail Sales Associate) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also shares responsibility of store cleanliness and maintenance, and pet safety standards as well as the direct care of pets within our store.

This position is paid on an hourly basis and will require flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the pet parent experience in-store and online.
• Greet pet parents and answer questions throughout the store.
• Prepare online orders for in-store pickup and ensure a smooth experience.
• Care for store-owned pets, including feeding and habitat cleaning.
• Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising standards.
• Assist with weekly pricing changes and monthly promotions.
• Stock and arrange new products to meet floor plans.
• Promote merchandise, services and live pets to customers.
• Ensure a safe environment for associates, pets and customers.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
