Job summary

PetSmart’s Pet Associate (Retail Sales Associate) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also shares responsibility of store cleanliness and maintenance, and pet safety standards as well as the direct care of pets within our store.

This position is paid hourly, with expectations to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed; it includes opportunities to grow

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.

Responsibilities

• Engage with pet parents and pets to deliver a positive shopping experience.
• Greet customers, answer questions, and assist at the sales register and online orders.
• Prepare online orders for pickup and ensure a smooth pickup experience.
• Assist with pet healthcare and care of store pets (feeding, cleaning habitats).
• Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising standards; support price changes and promotions.
• Promote adoption events, treats enrollment, and other store initiatives.
• Ensure a safe environment for associates, pets, and customers.
