Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer experiences in our Pet Care Center retail environment.

You’ll mentor newer associates, support store operations, and help ensure pet safety and product knowledge on the sales floor. You’ll greet customers, process transactions, assist with merchandising, and contribute to a collaborative team that puts pets first while meeting store goals.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of retail experience, preferably in a specialty retail environment.
• Passion for animals and knowledge of pet care preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Proven ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and professionalism in handling customer concerns.
• Basic math skills and experience handling cash and transactions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver knowledgeable, compassionate service on the sales floor.
• Educate customers on promotions, services, and loyalty programs.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and daily store tasks.
• Support merchandising, inventory, and restocking activities.
• Mentor and train new associates, and act as floor leader when needed.
• Resolve customer concerns and escalate as appropriate.
