Highland Animal Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, is seeking a Part-Time Kennel Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians by cleaning, feeding, exercising, restraining, and handling pets. Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED; equivalently experienced considered.
• Compassion for animals and commitment to their comfort, cleanliness, wellbeing.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions (feeding, cleaning, patient care).
• Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize amid interruptions.
• Clear communication and courteous attitude toward clients and coworkers.
• Observe/record food and water intake, bathroom habits; report concerns.
• Willingness to learn safe animal handling and restraint techniques.
• Work around animals, cleaning chemicals, odors; follow safety procedures.
• Flexibility for weekend/holiday scheduling.
• Perform essential physical duties (lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Basic computer proficiency: Windows, email, data entry.

Responsibilities

• Feed animals as prescribed; record appetites and intake.
• Recognize unusual conditions; monitor for distress.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with restraint.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness; clean equipment and facilities; safe chemical use.
• Follow schedule for cleaning cages, runs, and wards; change litter boxes.
• Complete weekly/monthly chores to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
• Prioritize tasks and manage interruptions.
• Maintain kennel laundry and supply fresh bedding.
• Walk patients according to schedule; follow written directions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
