Job summary

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital, animal care setting, or healthcare customer service role; veterinary experience strongly preferred
• Experience scheduling appointments, answering phones, and coordinating communication between clients and the medical team
• Strong customer service skills, including handling concerns with empathy, professionalism, and patience
• Experience maintaining accurate records, processing payments, and reviewing invoices for completeness
• Ability to explain veterinarian-provided care instructions, estimates, and follow-up recommendations clearly to clients
• Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize responsibilities in a busy hospital
• Comfort working around animals and supporting clients during stressful or emotional situations

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and manage front-desk duties, scheduling appointments
• Answer calls, coordinate communication with the medical team
• Assist with medication pickups and inquiries
• Input and manage data in practice management software, including billing
• Reconcile cash drawer and end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions
• Support retail sales and maintain records
• Weighing pets and handling faxes as part of daily operations
