Job summary

The JOY FM is seeking a compassionate veterinary assistant to provide daily care for dogs and cats in our care, including feeding, walking, and monitoring health. This role supports the veterinary team in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning, kennels, laundry, stocking, and following safety procedures. Previous animal care experience is preferred but not required; weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

Change bedding and maintain a clean, sanitary environment. Assist with basic animal handling and restraint as directed by the veterinary team. Observe animals for changes in behavior or condition and report concerns to appropriate staff. Help with laundry, cleaning, stocking, and other general clinic duties. Treat all animals with patience, kindness, and compassion. Follow clinic safety and sanitation procedures.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required. Must be dependable, responsible, and able to work well with others. Comfortable handling dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments. Able to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
