Job summary

The MSPCA-Angell Boarding Assistant position is a full-time role (40 hours per week) offering compensation of $20-$21 per hour. The role supports the Boarding and Grooming Department by monitoring and caring for healthy boarding guests, ensuring safety and comfort.

Primary duties include pet care, bathing assistance, cage management, and accurate record-keeping. Benefits include health and retirement offerings and paid time off, with opportunities for growth within the non-profit organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Fear Free preferred.
• A minimum of 6 months of animal handling experience preferred.
• A minimum of 6 months of customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and ensure quality pet care, including walking, restraining, and overall monitoring of canine and feline guests.
• Collect/wash/dry daily laundry, stocking, cleaning, and upkeep of Boarding Wards.
• Proper restraint during bathing, nail trims, and brushing services, assisting with grooms as requested.
• Maintain working areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Triage urgent and emergent findings and refer for veterinary care as needed.
• Transport animals safely following hospital policies.
