Job summary

Pet Paradise is seeking a Pet Bather to care for dogs and cats and support the grooming department with baths prior to scheduled grooms. Starting at $14.00 per hour with a $0.50 increase at 6 months and another $0.50 on the annual anniversary, the role offers advancement through the Unleashed Leadership Academy, plus training scholarships in grooming and canine behavior.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle a variety of animals safely and comfortably; prior animal handling experience highly preferred.
• Must have the physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift or move heavy pets or objects from time to time.
• Ability to calmly handle and bathe pets that may be scared or show hesitation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to resort schedule needs including days, night, weekends, holidays, and peak times.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the grooming department with baths prior to scheduled grooms.
• Providing "go-home" baths as requested by clients or management.
• May perform nail trims, brushing teeth, and cleaning ears as trained.
• Securing and reassuring pets to ensure safety and comfort.
• Keeping bathing stations clean and tools cleaned and ready for next use.
• Asking for assistance immediately if a pet demonstrates unusual stress.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
