Job summary

PetSmart’s Professional Bather is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon specific services and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also shares responsibility of store cleanliness, recommending of solutions for pet parents, and pet safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to safety measures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete PetSmart’s Splash training and safety certification.
• Manage pet parent experience in person, over the phone, and at the sales register.
• Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations.
• Handle check-in and check-out procedures.
• Perform full menu of bath and brush services, including nails, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
• Share health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on pet needs.
• Ensure a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents.
• Take action if a sick/injured pet is identified and coordinate vet transport as needed.
• Suggest and sell merchandise and services.
• Maintain total store cleanliness and assist other departments as required.
• Adhere to company policies and contribute to Belonging and Recognition culture.
• Cats grooming training may be required for new hires after March 2, 2026.
